My latest babies! (hopefully the last ones til next year...)

Just an update.

After much deliberations about the pros and cons of buying a phone purely on looks and buying one because of functionality, I finally have made a decision. Unfortunately though, the slim and sexy lost to the bulky but reliable. I realized that since I have been in the habit of taking pictures of anything and everything at anytime during the day, I will need to get a very capable camera phone. So here's my new phone. The Sony Ericsson K800i. Bulky as it may be, I really like the pictures I have taken using this phone. Thanks to the built-in xenon flash. I think, it can very well replace any entry-level digital camera around.

BTW, my old pair of Sennheiser MX250 died some weeks ago, so I replaced it with a Sennheiser CX300. It is definitely a huge leap from my old pair - for both price and quality. But Im really enjoying it so far.

Both were bought online.

Anyway, I think these will be my last non-essential purchases for the year. Non-essential in the sense that I could have bought cheaper ones to increase my savings, but decided to spend a little more to buy these instead. Ipon-ipon mode muna!

The Cheaper "Krispy Kreme"

Many years before the Philippines was granted its first Krispy Kreme franchise in 2006, the closest thing we have to their world renowned Original Glazed donuts was the Amazing Glaze (witty name isn't it?) served by numerous GoNuts Donuts stores around the metro.

I lately had the glazed donut craving, but was at the time saving up to an upcoming trip north. Needless to say, all other expensive forms of tummy gratification is strictly not allowed. Luckily, the cheaper alternative happens to be just a few meters from my office. To be honest, Krispy Kreme's Original Glaze donuts taste better that GoNuts Amazing Glaze donuts, but the price per donut is simply not reasonable for me. The same afternoon, I brought home a dozen of GoNuts' "insanely" delish treats, plus 3 Pastillas De Leche donuts which I have to say is one of the best tasting donuts I have ever had.

Compared to Krispy Kreme, a dozen of the Amazing Glaze donuts is only P185, which is about 30-40% cheaper. Not bad! Try not to refrigerate any leftover donuts though, as they tend to toughen up overnight. If you have to refrigerate, try putting them in the microwave for a few seconds first before eating.

The Gadget-itis Strikes Back!

For some time now, I have been resisting the urge to splurge, and get my hands on one of the slimmest and newest Motorola phones around. The follow-up to the Razor V3, named Razr2 V8, has:
-512 Mb of internal memory
-2.0 Megapixel camera
-Integrated Media Player (that can be controlled via the touch sensitive external LCD screen)
-262,000 glorious pixels in the external and internal LCD screens.
-Bluetooth, EGDE, etc.

The itch is getting more and more powerful...and anytime now, I may not be able to resist the temptation and...scratch it. Especially now that from the initial price tag of P20K last year, the price is now down to P12K!

Back At The Yard

Fresh from the phenomenal success of their Live @ 19 East album, Freestyle is back with their latest album (and considered as the group's first studio-recorded album since the exodus of former lead singer Top Suzara). The album, aptly titled "Back At The Yard" has a total of 16 songs, most of which are the group's original compositions. Each CD costs P250 only, and is available now at all leading record bars nationwide. BTW, Freestyle's Silver Series album is also out, showcasing the group's greatest hits including Before I Let You Go and So Slow.
